I have a 16 gallon Bio Cube, right now I am using a Koralia Hydor 240 gph, thinking about adding a Voyager Nano Stream pump 270 gph. Do you think this would be overkill in that size tank?

No. For a mixed reef, I recommend flow of 40-70x tank volume per hour. The two pumps combined would put you at around 30x. For example, in my 28g, I have roughly 2200gph of flow, or around 78x and I still think it’s somewhat inadequate. Now, if you can get pumps/wavemakers that pulse or that have a random setting, that’s much better than direct laminar flow. If you’re looking for a budget option, I would recommend the Jebao SLW 5 or 10 for a tank your size.I have a 16 gallon Bio Cube, right now I am using a Koralia Hydor 240 gph, thinking about adding a Voyager Nano Stream pump 270 gph.
