Powers out how long do my fishes have?

So they're doing electrical work on my block so were out of power for 8 hours started this morning since 8am and its been abkutb3 1/2 hours. They'll be turning the power back on at 4 pm. Will my fishes and cuc be fine for 8 hours ??

You can get battery powered air pump at Walmart in the fishing section.. Or use a cup and dip and pour water into you DT to help add oxygen to water.

Thanks, maybe just the water will be enough for another 4 hours?

Wish you luck! try to move the water around some sort every half hour or so the get some oxygen in there.

You can dose hydrogen peroxide ro introduce oxygen if needed. It shouldn't take much, maybe 1/2 ml per gallon. Something to consider is how long those fish were in a bag when they were shipped around the world.

My friend used a paint mixer bit for her cordless drill to stir the water in her 150 every hour or two for a few minutes during a 2 day power outage in her area a few years ago.

If you can't do that I recommend using a large pitcher and scooping water from the tank and pouring it back in from about 4-6" above the surface of the water. Do this a few times every hour or two. Doing this creates a little circulation and if you pour from high enough off the water you will trap air bubbles in the downward stream of water, hopefully creating gas exchange.

I didn't catch how many fish in how small of a tank - what do yo have? ....that's what will determine how long they have.

If the tank is dense with fish, they could only have a few hours. If it's on the light side, things may never go south.

(Well...what's the temperature like in the space where the tank is?)

Sorry for the late response guys it is now 2pm and I have a 55 gallon with a yellow tang blue jewel damsel and green damsel coral bandit shrimp 4 turbo snails and a bunch of her not crabs including 2 Halloween crabs.

Your fish will be fine for 8 hours. My power was out many times for more than 3 days with no problems. Do as was said. Remove some water and pour it back every 30 minutes or whenever you go near the tank. Don't worry about it for that short of time.

Thanks Paul . i ist took some out and poured it back in this is after 6hours Im just gonna stick it out for another 2 hours now

Yes power is back on but didn't actually come back in 8 hours it took 11 hours for it to come back on I know right. So after 4 hours I took out about a gallon of water and poured it right back in atb6 hours I did it one more time and left it alone for the remaining time. My fish look well none of them died same goes with my cuc.
