Question for you guys - Is it safe to use Prazi Pro in a tank with inverts such as shrimp and crabs?
Thanks!
Alison

No absolutley not... i would not reccomend this i would buy a uv sterilizer its a better option in the long run

Ive never used this personally but ive seen people bleach mushrooms, shrivel up snails and nems and melt chitin off of crabs

Other people swear by it but most professionals use a uv sterilizer that way trace minerals arent picked up because they use municipal water, if u did want a antiparasitic i would go with aqua cura prazi cura as its 100%praziquantel by volume no extra snake oil or bs that can damage the system but however it is not reef safe and may cause discolarion in corals

Prazi Pro is Praziquantel, which is a de wormer, and is reef safe as far as I know. I've dosed it to my reefs before.

I'm not sure how a UV would help at all with worms, flukes, etc, that Prazi is used for.

Yes, it’s perfectly safe. I have no clue what the first guy was on about. I’ve used it in the past for a small tank that also housed snails, hermits, and a cleaner shrimp. None of them exhibited any ill effects.

I actually just used it and i have a cleaner shrimp and a tiger conch. Both are fine and its been about 3 weeks since i first used it. I'd say you're good.

It is completely reef safe. The only thing it will hurt are worms, including feather dusters. It says so on the directions, and myself as well as many other reefers (who don't have any worms) have used it saefly.

The only thing to keep in mind is that with prazi it CAN drop the oxygen in the tank. For this reason some run a air pump while they treat prazi.

Also prazi needs to be used twice, 7 days apart. First dose kills the worms, second dose kills their eggs/babies.

Ive used it several times to treat flukes with no problems to my inverts or corals. It does kill worms though so any sort of decorative feather duster, bristle worms, etc are all at risk. It also kills off a lot of your pods.

Alls im saying is use a 100%praziquantal not a propriatary like hikari(again this doesnt really matter because this user is using tap water) all im sayjng is bottle companies mix theyre product with tap and will still have some trace elements left over ,when they should be using deoinized... alls im saying if you were to use praziquantul dont get a product that has hidden metals that can pollute the water collumn alot of products have ingredients that arent directly labeled in the bottle(trace minerals, wetting agents)... all im suggegesting is that she runs uv sterilizer to help upkeep water params (she runs a small tank)and use aqua cura praz cura as itsa 100% prazi compated to 80%or less imnot spreading any misinformation just trying to help and be friendly as im new to this forum
