As the instructions say to do a 20-25% water change after the first round. Once the second round is done, do you do another 25% water change? Also Won't the water have "leftover" PraZipro in it? If I finished the second round should I dump all the water out, clean, and then cycle the QT again or is it safe to add more fish with out cleaning out QT? @Humblefish @SeahorseKeeper

Praziquantel only remains active in the water column for 72 hrs max, as per Hikari. The water change is primarily needed to remove dead flukes and any ammonia they may cause. I would probably do another 25% WC after the second round just to play it safe, and then you should be able to use the QT again for more fish.

Thanks! Are there any types of fish in particular that you wouldn't use PraZipro on? Or any that you would use an extra round?

None that I have encountered. I would take care not to overdose ANY meds with wrasses, as they seem especially sensitive.

I was looking at the recent thread post called "dead quarantine" where the guy over load his QT and the ammonia spiked. Do you think I would be okay to put 4 wrasses (I already checked from evolved's thread they would be safe) in a quarantine with a bubbler?

How big of a QT is the?

I would use a HOB powerfilter. Air bubbler is only good enough for 1 or 2 small fish IMO. I am using the Aquaclear 50 ($40 new on Amazon) on my 10 gal QT.
What size are the wrasses? Reason I'm asking is because males can be a decent size and ammonia could be an issue. Keep a close eye on it.

I was going to get all juvenile females due to the fact they cheaper, smaller, and less aggressive. Also I do have a HOB along with a bubbler.

@Humblefish
Hey sorry to bring up an old thread, but I lost an angel and now a dartfish has white stringy poop and is breathing heavily. Can I use prazipro in my display tank or would that cause a huge ammonia spike? I don't want to lose all my fish as this is the second one. No signs of ICh or velvet. Pictures in my latest thread, I'm worried

White stringy poop is an indicator of intestinal worms: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/internal-parasites-intestinal-worms.267419/

So, your best bet would be to soak food with metro and also use Seachem Focus to bind the medication to the food.

X2 you'll need metro and focus for the white stringy poo. Sorry for your losses!
@Humblefish
Thank you guys.
Is this something very contagious and deadly? What should I do in the mean time (I'll have to see if my LFS carries this )

I have prazipro on hand, can I food soak with that? Will treating prazi In DT cause a deadly ammonia spike?

Internal parasites can be deadly, and yes it's contagious.

I am not sure on prazi pro, I don't think it would work well even if you could but I don't think you can/should.

Food soaking prazi will treat simple tapeworms, but is not as effective against Hexamita and other more dangerous internal parasites.

Using Prazipro should not impact biological filtration or cause an ammonia spike. Unless you have a large bristleworm or tube worm population in your reef; if too many of those were to die all at once, that would trigger an ammonia spike.
