This is my first time QT and I want to be sure I'm doing everything right!

Recently got a clownfish, I have him put into a cycled QT tank for 2 days now. He has been eating well and is very active. I have Prazipro and copper power on standby, I was going to dose prazi first. He is not showing signs of ich, parasites or anything but I read @Humblefish post about dosing in QT as a preventative measure. Should I be dosing prazi to the amount the label says (1 teaspoon for 20g)?

"Once he’s eaten for two consecutive days, I begin Prazipro treatment - dose once, wait 5-7 days, do a 20-25% water change and then repeat dosage. Five days later I do another 20-25% water change and run activated carbon for 24 hours. After removing the carbon, I begin either Chloroquine phosphate or copper treatment for 30 days. After that, the fish should be ready for the DT - so long as he’s eating, looks healthy and isn’t displaying symptoms of any disease."

Following these steps. Anything else I should be aware of/do?

Also- noob question but I can dose it directly into the water right? no need to bind prazi to food?

Thanks!!! lets hope the QT process goes well :)

This procedure has been a game changer for me. Similar to what you are doing.

just to confirm, only 2 doses right? and remove carbon before dosing?

Don’t forget to add metro or GC laced foods to the mix for 14 days to eliminate internal parasites.

i don't have metro or GC, will be getting soon probably though. i thought prazi took care of internal parasites?

It does if it’s fed to them, it’s not effective against internal parasites when in the water column.

got it, final question. will prazi mess with ammonia tests? I don't have an ammonia badge and still want to run tests daily on the QT
