Havent used mine in a while, passed the smell test. Added some to a small QT and within an hour the 3 wrasses contained therein were lying on the bottom. Oh &#@$*; rapid water change and fingers crossed. I guess praziquantel does have a shelf life.

Wrasse can be very sensitive to it, i think I lost a flasher because of it, haliochearus biocellatus was fine with it.

Not sure about shelf life, but it should have an expiration date, right?

Do you have plenty of oxygenation? I know you have a large DT and many fish, I am not questioning your ability, just curious. How old is the bottle in question?

Expiration date worn off ….. probably a sign that it's too old LOL.

No, no, not adding it to the main display, just a small QT. Turns out I am the idiot however ….. writing on the bottle is too small for my old eyes and I quadrupled the dosage. Ooooops. Fortunately caught in time and all three wrasses are fine and back eating again.

I was going to suggest possible OD. As I understand it, outdated Prazi is just ineffective, not dangerous. Glad everything worked out.

Sorry I made that confusing. I knew you were using in QT. I meant I knew you had successfully QTd several fish.

Uhhhh ohhhh. I'm glad you caught it quickly. I have never had negative experience with prazi and wrasse. So long as you beat the snot out of the surface of the water with a wavemaker so they have plenty of oxygen. Prazi drains it quick!

Ah ok. Yes the history of my fish is actually quite interesting. I took a break from the hobby for a few years. Got back in in early 2013 by buying a craigslist special. Always QT new fish, but I did not QT that tank. When I upgraded to a 265 later in 2013 I had an ich breakout. I assume it was there from the start. I always QT new fish because I don’t want to get something worse.
