Prazipro isn't available here in Europe but i found the equivalent, i guess. Esha gdex contains praziquantel (composition: 1 ml of gdex contains 66mg praziquantel according the bottle).

The manufacturer however can't say it's reef safe. They say it's safe for fish/snails/shrimps but "haven't done enough investigation on corals".

What do you guys think?

Only 66 mg per ml seems pretty low. That means there is a substantial amount of other compounds present. Prazipro uses a type of glycol, any idea what else this product contains?

If you have a lot of wrasses I would be wary anyway. I had success curing my tank of black ich after adding a blue regal to my tank due to trusting a highly respected LFS owner. Strong aeration was needed and my six-line wrasse was having twitching issues for about 20 minutes

66mg of 1ml is about 6.6%.
I just looked at the composition of Prazipro and surprisingly it's the same amount:

Dipropylene CAS glycol <95%
Praziquantel <7%

So it looks pretty identical, altough Esha doesn't mention which solvent they use. I have emailed them.

Next to some fish the tank has a torch, some hammers, a trachy, some acans, zoa's and a fire shrimp.
So far i have read this should be no problem, but the fire shrimp may get lethargic for a while.

Did you get any more info on the Esha gdex product? I could get an information leaflet from Esha and it says that is OK to use with cold water and tropical fishes, but not with marine fishes.

The manual says it's okay for marinefish, but in a seperate treatment/quarantaine tank. They can't guarantee it is reefsafe.

After carefully checking the Esha web page I have verified that there is an error related to the languages. The English information says it is OK to use gdex with marine fishes in QT tanks, while the Spanish leaflet precludes the use on marine fish.

About the concentration of the active principle, praziquantel, in the different products. According to the info contained in the Hikari web pabe, Prazipro contains 38 mg/mL praziquantel, while gdex contains 66 mg/mL

According the USA pdf of Prazipro it contains <7% praziquantel (=6.x%), which is the same as Gdex. Gdex contains 6.6% praziquantel.

The Dutch manual of Gdex mentions the use of marinefish too just like the English.

I'm less concerned about the praziquantel dose of the two products, that can vary quite a bit and still be safe. I'm much more concerned about the solvents used - that's where the larger issue stems from. Do you know if the solvents are the same?

Hikari states that the solvent is oxybispropanol (dipropylene glicol). Esha says nothing about the solvent

No don't know that. I asked an Esha representative on Facebook but he couldn't tell what's the solvent.
