I have had my yellow tang in QT for 2 weeks now with coppersafe. Hes doimg great, eats like a hog and is extremly active. He is a tad skinny but nothing drastic. He is NOT having white stringy poops or breathing heavily. I am going to do a freshwater dip tomorrow. If he should have flukes, can i dose prazipro with coppersafe or do i need yo do water changes and get rid of all the coppersafe before i can dose prazipro if i need to dose it?

I prefer not to, but you can. Just make sure you have plenty of aeration and keep a close eye on ammonia.

Well i did the fresh water dip. And am almost 100 percent certain hr has no flukes. He wasnt having any issues prior to dip. No heavy breathing, twitching, rubbing etc. Put him in the dip amd the first 3min he played dead then the last to he was just having a grand time swimming around and "eatting" stuff in the dip. (I got a little of his seaweed in the net when i caught him). I dont think i see anything in bucket other then some tiny bits of food (its green) i havr only one suspicious little thing that i cant tell what it is. It clear to pinkish but floats. Im thinking its more then likely some food. Theres nothing in bottom of the bucket. I put him back into QT tank and hes as happy as can be. Safe to assume he passed? Im having difficulties keeping nitrItes down as hes a big fish in a 20gal tank by himself. Hes been in QT 2.5wks now with coppersafe. Safe to move hime to DT? nitrItes keeping going up to 5 but he doesnt seem to mind. He eats fine. Is very active and no s/s of damage to gills or anything.

When I treat fish prophylactically, I do coppersafe and General Cure (has metro for internal parasites & praziquantel for flukes). And the praziquantel is a bit lower dose that easier on the fish, yet does the job. And no oxybispropanol like in Prazipro that can cause bacterial blooms and oxygen reduction. That way I'm covering Ich, Velvet, Brook, Flukes and internal parasites.
