New to Reef2Reef and have been in the hobby for 6 months. Bought a used Red Sea Reefer 425 XL to upgrade from my RSR 170. Setting up the 425 and cycling before the move over. Looking for expert advice for the little things that will make a big difference down the line. For example, changing all the O rings on the pipe connectors, installing new dedicated electrical line with GFI outlet, etc.

Really enjoying the hobby and appreciate the expert advice!

I have a 750XXL and I really like it. It is hard to give direct advice without having more specifics. I would definitely replace o rings to reduce the chance of leaks.

The stock ATO reservoir is garbage IMO so I would replace it with a traditional ATO. I also found that on my reefer when I used the return pump I wanted the sand blew away in the front because of the stock RedSea Nozzel. I have since swapped the nozzel for the RedSea Y nozzel and it has fixed the problem.

pre setup advice would be to return it and get a waterbox cade or innovative marine tank lol

Definitely will get the y nozzle and use a better ATO. Thank you.

I am new to forum, have similar question as I want a Red Sea 425, why get one of these other options instead? My experience level is at running a Red Sea 35 gallon 130D. I want a tank in the size range of the 425 Am considering getting a used one if I can find a good package deal.
