Just curious what everyone that has a predatory fish, anglers in particular would be awesome, feeds them. My angler will eat frozen krill or silver sides, both soaked in selcon. I also throw in the occasional live ghost shrimp or moly but he gets a little more picky after eating live. I prefer to keep my fish's diet varied if possible and this guy will eat pretty much anything I dangle in front of him including the feeding stick.

I feed my angler and dwarf lions live food. It keeps them so much more active. How long have you had your angler.

A combo diet live/dead like you are feeding him now I believe is the best. Certain true predator fish I believe need the stimulation of the hunt while kept in captivity.

If he's eating frozen then I would stick with that. Mysis, krill, and LRS reef frenzy is what my dwarf lion eats. Live food is ok to start but since it's mostly freshwater stuff it doesn't have all of the nutritional value. You could gut load live brine shrimp as well.

I feed everything at the market I can get my hands on. Salmon (both farmed and wild as they have very different nutritional profiles), cod, halibut, table shrimp, scallops, mussels, sea urchin... EVERYTHING. Except lobster... that's like snot when it's raw and you can't feed it out. I don't feed out live anymore, unless there's a new guy in the house I'm training... then sometimes I share.

I also supplement with fruit from my garden to get vitamin C and antioxidants into them.

Thanks guys! For those that do brine or Mysis, isn't that a bit on the small side? I'm just thinking compared to krill or a silverside, you would a decent amount of live brine. Also, is something that small enticing enough for them?

My smaller lions and scorps went for it when I fed the rest of the tank, but it wasn't a meal. I had to feed them meatier food.

In this video, you can see them picking around..... yes, in the beginning I'm complaining at my husband because he poured too much in at once. LOL!
