So I've got a community reef tank, and was just given a 120 gallon now front corner tank. I'm thinking of using it for a predator tank but need information, ideas, thoughts and suggestions. I was thinking of doing a couple of dwarf lions and a snowflake eel possibly. I know id want some kind of lion. Any ideas on other stocking or ways to set it up in a safe easy to manage way?

A couple dwarf lions and a snowflake eel would be just fine. I would go with male and female fuzzy dwarf lions. You can sex them by pectoral fin stripes, length of pectoral fins, and head size.

I would add a lemon peel angel to any medium sized fish-only tank. Maybe a harlequin bass too.

@lion king , any thoughts?

A couplen of dwarf or medium bodied lions would be a good center, you can do different species or a male/female pair of the same species, no 2 males of the same. @nereefpat gave some good suggestions. A small tang, like a tomini or bristletooth. A dwarf angel of your choice, coral beauties are nice also.

Create multiple caves, overhangs, and cliffs. In a community tank it's wise to get your lions eating dead food 1st, which can be challenging. Ideally in an observation tank or as the 1st inhabitants in the dt.

Kind of coincidental, I have a Dwarf Fuzzy, greyfaced moray, Tomini and a lemonpeel, (among others) in a 55. I can tell you they get alone rather well.

I would also recommend a Marine Betta, and a Flame Hawkfish, both are very cool fish.

I just realized in my first post I said " now front" instead of "bow front". What about inverts? I know shrimp are out of the question but what about snails? Or urchins? Something to help clean algea and detritus.

Urchins should be fine as long as you avoid Triggers or puffers, they'll eat urchins.

I have had 5 hermit crabs in my tank full of predators for a month, and they're all still alive.

I added 10 assorted snails about a week and a half ago, and only one is still alive, not sure what is killing them. Nassarius should be able to survive if you've got a deep sand bed.
