So I've recently encountered a horrible case of ick in my tank I lost a couple of fish and most recently I forgot to feed my snowflake eel. I pretty much passed out and woke up to one blue and green Chromie had bin eaten and a shredded cleaner wrasse, needless to say my eel is a beast for being only a few months old. Anyway I have enough money to set up a 10 gallon qt tank in order to give the tank its 76 days of running without fish, however I don't have the room to save all my fish and I know this sucks to say but honestly I love my eel and really only care about him.

When I started off this tank I wanted a lion fish its a 55 gallon so i know I'll have to by a dwarf, but I've always wanted one. But being compulsive I bought clowns and Chromis and didn't even think of not being able to by the lion due to it eat them. Now with the tank in such disarray from the ick I feel as if this will be my chance.

The question I have for all the predator lovers is what predator fish will go well with a dwarf fuzzy lion and a snowflake eel. Since I ha e a 55 gallon I figure I can get about 4 fish in there without causing massive problems with the water. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Whatever you end up getting just make sure it is bigger than the lion fish. From the research I've done, even something like a dwarf puffer would wind up eaten by a fuzzy dwarf.

Dendrochirus species mouths don't open as wide as their larger cousins, relative to their body. So with fuzzy dwarfs, something half it's size or smaller will be a concern, bigger than that should be fine.

With an eel and a dwarf lion I would caution against anything nippy. Another concern though, is once an eel starts hunting fish, they seldom stop. So adding new fish may be problematic.

I have a Predator Tank so far. My inhabitants are:
1 Niger Triggerfish
1 Dwarf Lionfish
1 Foxface Lo
1 Racoon Butterflyfish
1 small Hippo Tang
1 Flame Angelfish
1 Bluestreak Wrasse
1 Diamond Goby

Looking to add a Porcupine Puffer (once I'm able to find one)
Considering adding another Triggerfish (BlueThroat Triggerfish to be exact) but should I do it??

Ok because you have a 55 Gal tank I would add something like a Dwarf Angelfish, or a nice size clownfish. If not clownfish you could go with a Tang, but I would buy one small and that be it. Otherwise you have to deal with overcrowding and large bioload. Problems with water would be least of your concern.

What size is the tank? I've had some established nigers bwhave aggressively to blue throats.

Also, porcupine puffers can be nippy with lions.

Just be wary of aggression from the niger toward the blue throat, but it should be fine.

I would be concerned about nippiness of the porcupine toward the lion, especially since dwarf lions are more sedentary than larger lions.
