What does everyone like now? What type of plumbing to the sump?

When I had my tank it seemed everyone was into coast to coast style for maximum surface skimming. I've looked at a lot of build threads recently and I noticed most do not use this style.

The bean animal seems to be the most popular drain type out there. What do you guys like?

In my current peninsula my overflow spans most of the end of the tank. I use BeanAnimal's basic design.

If I were adding to a tank I'd use a ghost style, low profile overflow. Lots of companies make em now.

In doing some more reading I'm pretty sure I'm going with the bean animal as it suits my belt and suspenders philosophy.

So is a ghost overflow essentially a thin box with weirs connected to the tank with bulkheads on the inside?

What does everyone else think? You got a c2c? Do you like it? I'm mostly seeing them on the IM tanks.

Same with ghost over flows? Someone installed one in a build thread and realized afterwards their euro bracing made it difficult to clean the box. How has your experience been?

I personally like herbie, simple, reliable, efficient and quiet if used with gate valve
