So for people that use GFO... or Carbon... or any type of chemical filtration

How do you mechanically filter the water before it gets to the chemical filtration chamber/vessel ?

I ask because without any mechanical filtration, my phosphate media gets clogged up quickly, so I resort to regularly changing my sump's filter floss and turning off the phosphate remover gate valve whenever the filter floss chamber is overflowing.

I used filter floss

My water goes through a 7"filter sock. I would just put the carbon or charcol in a media bag in the sock. I like the dual brs media reactor though. Very basic. Looks like a rodi unit.
