I was just feeding my fish and noticed how large my blenny’s stomach is!
He/she is eating like a pig still going after algae on the rocks.
I hope it’s not sunken belly disease. Hoping that it’s just eating good or pregnant.
There is no other blenny in the tank. Any ideas?

0- ammonia
0- nitrite
10- nitrate

Stock list:

Bonded black ocellaris pair
1 tail spot blenny
1 Firefish

Every other day flake food and about 2 times a week frozen mysis
Blennys should be fed a mixture of vitamin enriched meaty foods daily along with algae (not just the stuff growing in the tank)

So should I stop with the flake and replace it with mysis everyday?
As far as other algae sources goes would nori work?

Sorry for all the questions

Not a problem, that's what were here for :) yes mysis every day and nori for grazing

Here's a recipe for a fish "smoothie" inspired by @jsker
Take one each of a variety of frozen fish cubes (usually use 6-8) like mysis, seaweed, chopped clams, brine shrimp, coral food mix, etc. Place them in a small tupperware in the fridge to "slump" (thaw). Mix a bit. Strain off the excess water. Add a few drops of vitamins like Selcon, Zoecon, etc. The mix will stay good in your fridge for a few days. Your fish will love, love, love it. Only give enough to the fish for them to eat in 2-3 minutes. Hope this helps a bit. Cheers.

Is that freshwater tank gravel? Almost looks like a crushed lava rock substrate

It looks like Black Hawaiian Sand, you can see the white particles further down. I'm guessing the sand hasnt been turned over/cleaned in awhile.

Coming from a Black Hawaiian sand owner who neglects his sanded occasionally.

Tried to feed mysis today and nori but the blenny didn’t go after it, will it take a while before he starts to eat it?

I would keep trying different things until I found something it eats. Mine ate hikari seaweed extreme pellets, mysis and spirulina brine shrimp.

Try nutramar ova. I had success with that and PE mysis. Also...mine have never eaten nori, but do eat frozen seaweed cubes

I have had blennies come with internal parisites before, if it is eating well but still struggling, look care full at its belly. It may need deworming.
