I am making a snail guard for my float switches and was going to use prescription bottles. They are PP 5 and I know that is reef safe, but what about the paint on the top for the “push down and turn” labeling? I assume at tank temps this wouldn’t really be a factor.

I guess You could use sand paper to bring down lable/embossed/ texture to cap level along with paint... Which is Possibly acylic based, in hot water.
Acylic paint is water soluble and oil based is water proof
