It's An ice cap in sump ats instead of mounted above sump.

It's a media reactor some people use for cheats reactors. Was going to use it for cheato. But never really worked for me. Cheato would act as a sponge filter and require rinsing.

Bet when I removed my media baskets and went back to socks. I no longer had a spot for carbon, and other medias if i decided to use. So I just left it and use it.

I feel you will have better results from the scrubber vs the cheato reactor

So it has been. Going on 3 weeks with the algae scrubber. After 2 weeks of it running. My phosphate and nitrate are in check. Red slime is gone from my aquarium. My skimmer is barely working as is to be expected.

Between routine weekly maintenence, every other day changing filter socks. And this scrubber things are doing amazing.

My first harvest wasn't beautiful green hair algae but it is definitely a start. I'm glad it fit.

For anyone future reference have a red sea reefer 250. With factory sump. If you remove the refugium wall. There is enough room to fit an in sump ice cap unit.

I still have room for a few pumps for external canisters if needed. But factory sump is pretty tight. Hence the external reactor. Seems kinda overkill in size for carbon ha ha ha. But it has room if I need to run other medias. And only use 1 canister.
