Prevent snail from bringing nuisance algae

So there is awesome info in the fish disease forum about how to qt fish. Is there anything like that for inverts?

I didn't see it so... What is the best procedure for adding snails (turban snails) without bringing bad algae and pests into the system?

If you going to QT for diseases - hold in QT for 72 days
For algae - visually inspect and pick or scrub off

Personally I don't QT inverts (snails) that's just my choice. I acclimate, rinse them several times to try and limit as much store water from entering my system and then they go inside. Never had any issues.

I am fishless so less about disease right now. I just want to make sure I don't let anything that's going to take hold and grow

Visual inspection and scrub?

You can usually see if there is algae on the shells.

That's what I was planning. Didn't know if there was some sort of dip that was more reliable

That that I know of. They are pretty sensitive.
