Price comparison site with discount notification?

I wonder if this has been tried before or if people mainly rely on Google Shopping? Something similar to "camelcamelcamel" for amazon pricing but with multiple vendors. Perhaps it would evolve into something similar to "http://pcpartpicker.com/" where aquarium builds could be created and shared. One cool thing about a site like this is to search for completed builds with specific parts. For example "Show me tanks between 180 and 250 gallons with MP40QD". Or find builds similar to yours and compare people who use 2-part dosing vs CA reactor. etc...
Is this something that would be interesting to folks here or is Google Shopping enough? Any vendors lurking here can chime in if this would be good (easy to find products/stock, auto-sales notification) or bad (People will wait for sales too much)?

I'm currently building a website for myself and a few friends that takes your water parameters + dosing schedule over time and uses Google's machine learning (Brain/Tensorflow) to recommend parameters based on what you (and others) have done in the past and the likely outcome. I'm considering adding an equipment component.
