I guess I'm getting back into it at the wrong time, things are going up in price while I write up the project. I do see the other options out there that are cheaper but I have reservations about smaller companies maybe not having the best CS. I'm trying to get hold of one mfg now through multiple means and I haven't heard anything back. That alone gives me pause that maybe I'm better off going with a larger company just because I can actually talk to them and ask questions. As for the products themselves, there's usually less user base out there to tell how well the products work, also less research and review on them which I need right now deciding what direction to take. I want to do this one last time and don't want to make new major expenditures in a year or two because of product failure and no CS to back it up or the company being out of business or because I can't get hold of the mfg.
I agree with Breadman03 about cost reductions. In a normal economy startup, marketing and tooling costs are built into the product pricing. As the ROI comes through and supply chains stabilize you would normally see pricing relax. But in the current economy it's grab it while can for as long as you can until you burn it up, then move on to something else. Sign of the times I guess, just an opinion.
And I still hate buying in backwards order to secure rising costs from accessories towards the tank and sump rather than tank, sump, pumps etc. first before the rock is even cured.
