I purchased five packs of prime reef frozen formula. Made by Ocean nutrition .

The pet store sold me on this they said it does not need to be thawed I am leaving on vacation and I thought that would be great just to throw in the tank . For my helpers.

So I tested it out I put it in the tank and I have floated to the top would not sink, would not break apart even my clown fish had a hard time ripping at it then my powerhead kicked in and blew it under a rock. Yesterday I put it in the tank and it disappeared once again today it was stuck to my powerhead still in original form from yesterday.

In my opinion the stuff sucks is there anyway that you can think I could break it apart I could not smosh it either .

Pet store won’t take it back I guess I could just call the manufacture .

Drop it in your sump by the return pump. As it starts to thaw it will sink, get sucked into the pump, the pump will break it up and shoot it out of the return.

Seems an interesting way. Mine was stuck to my power head for over a day and it was still together. Then when I moved it broke up.

Here’s an update:

I contacted the manufacturer and Andy the owner of the company called me personally. After a 45min phone call he explained to me the process and they figured out that last week they had extra Calcium in the water that when frozen hardened the cubes. This is why I was experiencing my issue.

He was kinda enough to send me out a new batch . Going forward his product will work as described.
