Primer Only okay? No Cement???

Hello, I messed up and only bought primer and not cement for my pvc. Is this okay to only use or am I asking for a problem.

Primer does not seal and will not be sufficient.

Asking for a problem. You need the actual glue to achieve a water tight joint.. Sorry to say, but I see a trip back to the hardware store in your future...

Primer is not glue. Glue holds pipe primer cleans it. You need glue

actually pvc cleaner cleans the pipe, primer softens it to let the glue adhere better

Have to agree with the others. Primer is essentially the same solvent as the glue, but glue has added pvc solids dissolved in it. The joints might hold, but I wouldn’t trust them. If the added solids weren‘t necessary, the manufacturers wouldn’t add them. PVC is relatively cheap; it’s not worth the risk.

You can use glue without the primer. Not the other way around.
