I came into a 20gal tall tank, possibly to replace my 13.5 fluval. It will fit on the stand I already built, so I plan to spray paint the back either black or blue. Its old and holds water, but has some lime, easy enough to clean off, the guy that had it bred freshwater fish. Anyways, what can I use to clean the lime issue with? My plan was to use at least 1 aquaclear 70 to run a fuge in along with other filtration. I saw this mod on Inappropriate Reefers youtube series on his 10g tank. I have a prime, but unsure how it'll do on a rimmed tank? Any advice is welcome. My 13.5 is wonderful, but I just want more space for rock etc. The back filtration part just keeps things hidden, it doesn't really upset me and when I started the hobby in 9th grade all I had was HOB. I'm on a budget so any advice on keeping my protein skimmer than is in the back chamber of my fluval and incorporating it into the 20?
