Priming iwaki external pump issue

I poured water from the top it went down to the bucket, turned it on.... still doesn't pump !

I guess it can't suck upward ~10 inch ?

I need to test the pump... pls advice thx

Water level needs to be just above the impeller housing for it to pump. The way you have it in the picture, the water would just run down the pipe, through the pump and down to the bucket.

Yeah, it won't pull water up unless the whole pipe is full of water. Pump lower and bucket higher will pump.
