I have a Pro Corals Rainbow Acro that I got from Jason Fox this summer and was wondering if anyone has this piece and where you have it located. When I first got it it was browned out so I placed it in my frag rack (on the side of my tank) and after a month it turned a bright green and was encrusting very well. I moved it to the center of my tank which is the same height but right under the MHs and it has continued to encrust very fast but after a month it has turned to a light brown color from the bright green. I have searched on the web and have not been able to find many pics of this piece except what Joson Fox has on his website and have not been able to find anyone who has it.

My water quality is the best it has every been and everything is very stable. Im at the station right now so I cant tell the exact numbers or give any pics.

Does anyone have this acro?

I have it, actually a lot of people have this one. It is a nice coral and grows really fast. Mine has a little green in it but is mostly red (actually red not brown) and a little yellow with really light blue growth tips. To get the deeper blue I've been told it needs lower light. Mine is in about 280-320 PAR getting good flow.

I have this in two different tanks. My colony is under T5s high up and is basically all red. I have a mini colony under a radion pro and the color is unbelievable.

Will you post pic of mini colony under radion pro?

Same issue here; awesome growth, but not great coloration... :( I've heard polar opposites on this coral, high and low. Right now mine is about 6" below the water surface.

If you want to replicate the exact coloration of this piece, ask Jason what lighting he uses. Specifically the lamp colors in his T-5 fixtures.

Mine came directly from Sonny and I have mine under first gen Evolution 20k fixtures. In my tank it behaves much like the ORA red planet. If you want mostly red, hammer it with light. If you want the "rainbow", move it to lower light. It grows like a weed once it settles in too.

I have mine high light medium flow. Bout 325-350 par. T5 lights. Maroon with yellowish and little grern. Mine encrusted real good now forming a bunch of branches. I cant get any of the blue tint maybe i nred to move it alittle lower.

Wow all of those are some nice pics. The intensity of the lighting makes sense cuz when it was on the side of my tank it was green and is now changing color since it is right in the center under the MHs.

Thought I'd revive this thread instead of starting a new one. So, I just got one of these a month ago. when I got it it was basically all red. then it developed gold in the body and now it looks mostly green. Would you guys say that it is not getting enough light?

I can't get mine to be happy at all... Started to get the green on the frag rack, placed it at about the same level on the rock, and it started to bleach. Moved it a little lower and off to the side, hoping it'll recover. I was so excited to get a piece from Jason, and been so bummed that I can't get it happy. Also got a TDF and Blueberry Nasuta that are looking great. Everything else in the tank has been happy...

Curious to see what happened to yours. Mine has done the same. Came from T5s to Radion xr0 Gen2 Pros. It came in Red, with mustard yellow inside...it is now basically bright green. Had great polyp extention too...but that has gone away also. It's about 12 to 18 inches beneath the surfice.

I have this coral and it grows like a weed btw. I do not have a power meter, but the lower I have have it in the aquarium the more color I get out of it. The base is gorgeous yelllow/orange/green and the body is red with bluish tips that is mid in the aquarium. If I put one on the frag rack on the back wall away from light. The whole frag will be like the base. Indirect lighting makes this guy beautiful.

It's a very fast grower for me. I've found that under more intense lighting it will basically turn all very vivid hot pink. To get the rainbow colors, I've had to keep lower in the tank where the lighting isn't as intense. Too low, and it has browned out for me.
