This site, and the people on it, are fantastic! I started lurking here, back before the holidays, as I started researching the possibility of starting a saltwater tank. I started a build thread, sometime after getting the tank, back in February. I have spent countless hours reading the impressive information, following and interacting with some members, and planning/setting up my tank.
When I got married 18 years ago, and bought my first house, I quickly started looking into saltwater aquariums. I have always felt an affinity for ocean life, and I thought this was the time. Well, the books I read let me know that it was not a good time, due to time and money. Fast forward to last year. I am vice president of my consulting company, and have better work-life balance than I have ever had. NOW was a good time.
I will save the tank details for my build thread. I am a planner, to a fault, and will probably need to push myself to be willing to make mistakes. I got the tank in February, and just put water in it, two nights ago. I plan on having a mixed reef, and have enjoyed the research and work, so much! I am already hooked, and have no doubt that I'll be upgrading in a few years. My eleven year old daughter and I have already invested so much time together on this journey, which makes it even more special.
Other than that, I am an extremely active disc golfer, playing 5-6 times a week, including tournaments. I am also an avid papercrafter. The photo for my profile is a cardstock replica of the Sleeping Beauty castle in Paris, that I put probably 400 hours into.
In addition to having a successful reef tank(s), I am hoping to be an extremely active member of this community. Here's to hoping that one day I can help others, the way so many have already helped me!

Hello and welcome to our reefing family.

Tank scape look good. just remember to take it so to have a better chance at success. you will go through some ugly stages before you are fully ready to add livestock, especially corals and anemones.

Please ask questions anytime you have one.
