I am designing my sump and currently have it configured such that the display water drains into a refugium section, then a skimmer section, and then a return pump section.

I'll be dosing the three major elements (Ca, Alk, and Mg) and automatically topping off fresh RODI. I'll be installing four probes (pH, Temp, Salinity, and Redox).

I'm in a bit of a conundrum because I feel like I shouldn't put the probes in the first section (refugium) since the fuge light might dirty the probe, leading to inaccurate readings or frequent cleaning and recalibrations.

I also think I shouldn't put the probes in the skimmer section since the microbubbles might cause issues, especially with the salinity probe.

This leave the only option for probe placement being the return pump section.

If I leave the probes in the return pump and move all my 3-part dosing and my ATO freshwater line to the refugium section, won't this cause issues with the probes being downstream???

It may. I'd try in the first section for awhile. Cover the probes or make a small open ended black acrylic box around them.

Let's see what others think.
