Randy my question is where in the sump is the best place to mount monitoring probes? It's A 3 chamber sump, 1st filter socks,2 nd skimmer, 3rd return pump dosing tubes gfo and ATO with kalk

Heaters? What kind of probes? 1st would be my choice with that above info but second would be fine for temp or pH. Is a salinity probe one of the probes? I'd also make sure it's placement is where there are no bubbles that can build up on it.

I generally prefer to keep all probes and sensors after the chamber where water enters the sump from the display tank, but before any chamber containing heaters and ATO or dosing lines. The idea is that I'd like to monitor the water as it exists in the display tank and not the water in the sump that could be "polluted" with ATO water, alkalinity solution etc. I also kinda think that the heater may cycle less if the temperature probe is measuring water temp before it gets to the heater.

Ok the 2nd chamber has the skimmer, would that create possible air bubbles that could get in the end of the probes.? The first chamber has the heaters and filter socks

It's possible. All depends on how things are laid out in that one chamber. Remember that the water is going to flow through it on one direction, and carry any micro bubbles from the skimmer with it. If the probe holder is on the other side of the chamber, you should be fine.

I have similar set up, my probes, PH, and Temp., in the chamber across from skimmer, between skimmer and return is the bubble trap, between the bubble trap is where my heater is. I've had no problems with bubbles and probes are working fine.
