I'm currently starting up testing on a new hyper oxygenated water purification process. First time with saltwater and one of our biggest outputs is Aragonite, nurtures aerobic bacteria and algae while killing off anaerobics. We're working to prove our process and ideally help our poor oceans.

I made a trip out to see Rusty's Reef in Sandy Utah and he was overflowing with exciting news. He's been working with some folks in Florida and testing the effects of probiotic dosing to speed up coral growth and regeneration to help their reefs. Their Acropora is growing an upwards of an inch a month, plays and zoas are also prolific. I don't have bounding knowledge on his study, mostly just excited it's happening![emoji4]

I'm posting because I'd like to open up the discussion on probiotics.
I'm asking from the perspective of trying to decipher whether or not I want to incorporate probiotics into our study. I'm kind of at a loss in respects to how you could possibly dose the ocean with probiotics, outside of maybe replacing oceanside refineries with oceanic pre and probiotic productions?(these are my 3AM 'big ideas')
Would love to hear what you all think! :)

The Probiotics are used to supply the elements for No3 and Po4 reduction. The Probiotics provide the bacteria, in our bios , to help keep our nutrients in check. I'm using them due to high No3 and Po4 in my tank. When the bacteria is established in out tanks we then use mechanical filtration to remove the bacteria that has consumed the No3 and Po4, the filtration is usually a protein skimmer that provides an "air/water interface for hydrophobic organic molecules and amphipathic organic molecules to collect on the bubble surface". and be removed in collection vesicles.
I hope this helps.

@Salty1962
Definitely a more structured food for thought.
So are the collection vesicles you mentioned a suspended by-product and are they eventually converted or expelled?

I'm sorry. What does that mean?

Hyper-oxygenating how?

How does that relate to aragonite?

We've patented technology that creates a sustained vortex under water. The end result creates suspended vortices within the water as well as crystalline water. The process is also creating colloidal vitamins and minerals. Completely chemical free, extremely reminiscent of the water forms you come across in river eddys.

We've proves our process in fresh water, even eradicating heavy metals and toxins from water left over from mining operations.

Crystalline water is ice. You are creating ice?

By skimming out metals bound to organics?

Can you provide the patent number so I can understand the technology better? Your statements are not really clarifying things for me. :)

I could but I didn't really start this thread to prove our process. I just wanted some insight on probiotics in marine life.
In truth you attaching happy faces to your responses doesn't make them any less pretentious.

Pretentious? Are you perhaps not a native english speaker? Or did you truly mean that word?

The definition of pretentious is

"attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed."

This is my forum, I am the expert chemistry moderator, and I have spent many, many years sorting through the claims of manufactures and processes that sound good to the nonexpert, but lack true scientific veracity and ultimately mislead hobbyists.

Some of what you have posted is clearly confusing, and might be misleading or even untrue. That is why I asked for clarification before stating that some it isn't making sense.

So I'm giving you full opportunity to clarify what you mean by some of the things you said so we can best help answer your questions.

For example, without knowing what sort of study you are actually referring to, I cannot possibly say whether adding chemicals to spur microbiological growth (i.e., probiotics) will be useful.

I'm not here to sell or prove anything. I think pretentious is fitting even more so considering your response. While I appreciate all the years you've spent validating yourself your inflated ego is very diminishing and for the record the "ice" I was referring to is cristalline structured water, if you haven't already check out Masaru Emoto. I am by no means an expert nor have I made that claim. I will make a conscious effort to not post in your forum again.
