Problem with clown

Hello folks,

I've had this problem pop up with the clowns that I have had since 4/2/20. The male shown pictured the last couple days started looking bad. His mouth is open and he won't eat now. The female has had a problem with mouth before a couple times, has gone away. She has a slightly white mouth but nothing like the male. They host in a hybrid frogspawn so maybe being stung? All other occupants of tank are fine. Recently did have chaeto die, I think was due to some swings in chem.. so a nitrate spike did happen as a result. All inhabitants-- shrimp, inverts, LPS and fish are seemingly happy.

Just a random thought, but sometimes I have suspicions where all of this cross breeding / selective breeding for these designer Clowns actually weakens their physical health and resilience overall compared to the “classic” ones?
