Help! I had deltec 600ix that was sitting in storage for awhile and I took it out to set up a new tank. It is currently sitting at 24cm water level when the recommended level is 15-25cm.

However I seem to be unable to bring up the water level in the skimmer to the minimum level despite having the knob turned all the way down. I'm not sure what else to do.

I’ve got a 1500i and this happens when something (usually algae) gets stuck in the needle wheel impeller. Have you taken it apart to check the pump?

I run an SCA1351, the prior generation of the 600ix. I get frothy white bubbles from the pump outlet into the skimmer body. As said earlier, definitely check your pump and venturi.

check to make sur the tubes are firmly in holes at the bottom of skimmer, and try changing the out flow direction of water coming out of tube..
can also try moving skimmer to differ locations in the sump. I had similar problem with my 1000 skimmer after cleaning pump and messing with the flow and tubes..skimmer started working like it should.Hope this helps

If you have a new tank, it could very well be that your water does not have enough DOCs in the water to make the foam you want. Additionally, if your new tank is just new saltwater and dry rock, there may not be enough organic content in the water to reduce the water tention that leads

thank you for all your help! will try to take it apart to check, have been sick the past couple of days and could not get the energy to set up. Also facing problem trying to connect my new Apex to the network... sighhss why does everything have to so difficult.

Any improvement on your Deltec skimmer yet? I gotta say, I love mine. My tank is only about 2-1/2 months old with only 4 fish in it, no corals yet and this is the sludge I’m pulling.

I just set it up again after doing a cleaning. The water level is still not enough to hit the min water level. Will let it run a day or 2 to see if it changes

How new is your tank, any life in it yet? I noticed your adjustment knob seems to be bottomed out and the water depth seems pretty deep at 10”.

My SCA 1351 which is essentially the same as the 600ix sits in 8” of water and I still have some play left in the adjustment knob. Can you maybe raise it up a couple of inches?

The tank is pretty new I just added dead rocks which have been cycling in a bucket. Its sitting in about 24cm water height. If i don't bottom out the knob the water level will be even lower.
