Hello everyone,

Wasn't sure where to post this but something is wrong with my long nose hawkfish and I have no idea what it is. I've provided some pics. At first it was just a bump so we thought well maybe he swam into a rock or something. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Almost looks like a tumor or growth of some kind. Is it protruding outward or sunken in?

It protrudes outward. The other day it looked as if a piece of rock was embedded in him. Went from being a bump to busting open. He is still eating which is good I'm just worried about him.

IMHO; the only thing you could do for him at this point is treat with antibiotics to prevent a possible infection. But that would have to be done in a QT. Only in-tank treatment options would be to start soaking his food in vitamin supplements (Selcon, Zoecon, Vita-chem) to give his immune system a boost. Good luck!
