So I recently bought a Aussie gold torch at a lfs and got it for a really good price, the only thing I’m concerned about is when I bought it noticed some of the arms on the back side where kind of white and not extended and smaller then all the other arms. Not sure if this is new growth or some kind of tissue that’s dying. Please help if you can I never had a torch before and a little nervous. Like I said it was like this when I bought it and still is after 3 days in my tank. Params. Are all fine and stable I hope it’s new growth.

It looks bleached like that portion was sitting in high light. For Aussie Golds, I would keep them in lower light like 100-150 PAR. The most important thing is that there’s no tissue recession.

Okay Thankyou yes it’s in the sandbed in low light, to the lower to moderate flow so we’ll see how she recovers.

It might take a bit for it to recover but as long as it's not in crazy high light (torches, and euphyllia in general don't need super high par to be happy) and has enough flow to keep the tentacles swaying gently, it should fine. It looks like it will be gorgeous when it is all better.
I bought a frogspawn about a month ago that had some bleaching issues as well, but it has recovered. It took about three weeks for all the zooxanthelle to repopulate the tissue.
