I am new to SW and even newer to the Neptune Apex control system. My question is with my energy bar. I have the Neptune Apex Gold so have the 8 outlets. I have all of them assigned and all my lights turn on and off as programmed, heater cycles on and off as programmed. The problem I'm having is my skimmer powering off during a feeding cycle. The control says it is off but it is still running. If I unplug the skimmer and plug it back in, it stays off and matches the state my computer shows. I can power it up by putting it in Auto or On but if I command it of it stays on till I unplug it and plug it back in. I used the "canned" program for pumps so used defaults and did no additional programming. Just curios if anyone had this issue and how it was resolved

I'm guessing it's a very small skimmer and you have it on one of the triac outlets? (1-3 or 5-7)
You'll need to put it on outlet 4 or 8 as those are relays.
The current draw is too low to allow the triac to function properly; it essentially sticks on. A relay outlet will work regardless.

Try putting a surge protector between the power bar and the skimmer. Make sure and get one with a 330v clamping voltage. Unfortunately small inductive loads can have very high back EMF pulses. These can turn the triac back on. Every time power is removed it produces another pluse which turns the triac back on. Since this paeans several times a second it appears to still be on all the time. Usually a sure protector will clamp any purses over the 330 volts. This is enough to usually prevent the triac from, turning back on.
