Problem with Tek fixture hanging

I hung my 5 foot, 6 bulb Tek T5 fixture above my 150g tank with the Tek single point hanging kit and quickly realized that the back of the fixture (where the wires exit the fixture) is sitting 2"-3" higher that the front of the fixture (like the front is heavier than the back). :sad::rain: Has anyone else had this problem? What have you done to correct it? I tried putting tension on the wires, but that twists the fixture. Currently I have a 3' piece of steel flat bar sitting on the top back of the fixture to sort of even it out. I will become permanent if I can't come up with a better solution. Thanks.

i got the 2 point kit for exactly this reason.. if putting the tension on the wires isnt helping you could get the 2 point kit. also you could get some hooks and put it on the wall, level with the fixture..

This size fixture is meant to be hung with the 2 point kit. The single point kit is ment for the 24"fixture and really doesn't work well there either

I never had that issue with my 4 lamp fixture, but I did want to lower the front just a little to allow the light to not shine as far out the front of the tank. I did this by adjusting the eye-bolts. Just use the threads on the eye-bolts to level the fixture out a bit. This way it is still a single point for hanging, but the bracket is adjusted where it hooks to the fixture itself...

Edit: just read the other comments... I may have had the 2 point kit with mine... 4 total eye-bolts, one triangle bracket per side.

I just went from hanging my TEK to the legs, I like it much better. Very sturdy and looks clean. They're on sale @ reefgeek. HTH..
