Problem with tlf phosban reactor

Twice now, the bottom foam pad has risen on one side, causing a volcano of gfo to erupt. What can i do to prevent this? I have the flow perfect so it just slightly boils on the surface. If i slow the flow, then its not tumbling good enough.

If I recall correctly, that entire cyclinder comes out. I would use fishing string or something and tie down the foam pad to the red plastic part.

Also would love to know a good way to fix this. Tying it down would definitely be something worth giving a shot. This happens to me pretty frequently and once the GFO starts rising up its hard to get it back down to the bottom to get it slowly bubbling again.

I just took it apart, and tied the sponge to the plate with baby zip ties in two places across from eachother. I figured zip ties would be easier than fishing line. Its irritating having to take it apart, because i throw away the gfo and replace with new each time. Its just too messy and hard to contain if done otherwise.

May be a silly questions, but pardon me as I do not have or use this, but are you even supposed to have the foam pads in there while running GFO?

When we set ours up there was nothing in the instructions that said to remove them so we left them.

i contacted tlf and they said sometimes this problem happens. The solution is to zip tie the pad to the plate. They said the pad is needed, because it prevents the gfo from grinding up.
