So I've been having a lot of problems lately with my newer LPS. I've recently lost a chalice, a neon prism favia, a Pluto favia, now my Christmas war coral is bleaching out. It seems they all started to recede and recede until it was just skeleton. I've got some orange micromussa's, and green ones, which are doing very well. They have been in the tank for a long time. My parameters seems to be fine. The Pluto favia was starting to through out new heads, then just started receding. I target feed about once or twice a week. I'm really at a loss. All LPS are lower in the tank. Its a 90 gallon with an OR it2080 LEDs.

Alk 7.8dKH
Ca - 420
Mg 1440
Salinity 1.025
Ph is 7.9

I switched to LEDs in October, and am slowly switching salts. I'm sure I'm leaving out some details... Please help.

Please help.

Have you tested your phosphates and nitrates? Also are you acclimating newer corals to the leds?

Do you add strontium and molybdenum ? I had a similar issue with LPS where the polyp was detaching from their skeleton and my stront. levels were low. Just an idea. Good luck

They were acclimated to the LEDs. I have not been dosing strontium or moly. Any suggestions on raising my ph. I've been a bit concerned about how low it is myself. I've been adding Kalk top off. I thought that may raise it...perhaps I have that backwards.

Ph is fine don't try raising it. Is that your reading with lights on? Have you double checked your phosphates and nitrates with other test kits?

Your alkalinity could be higher too it is recommended to have it at 8-12 preferably at 9 dkh. Hope this helps

I've got a GFO running...so levels should be low. I've got a cheap nitrate and phosphate test kit, I'll give them a shot and see what they say. I haven't tested nitrates in about two weeks, so ill try both kits.

Yeah slowly raising Alk....just set up doesr last week. I've been keeping it higher, but if I don't dose it goes down to about 5.0 dKH.

So I just tested PH old aquarium pharm kit says 8.2. Sailfret gives me 7.8/7.9. Testing nitrates now. Other kit is nitrites so I only have the one nitrate kit.

How is your SPS doing in the tank? If they are doing well then your system is too low on nutrients. If the SPS isn't doing so well, then something is up with fluctuations in your params. That is how i'd slice it on my own tank.
