Prodibio REEF BOOSTER

Who why when what? Opinions from people who have used it and its proposed benefits. What exactly is in it? And which reefs would benefit from it?

I used 3 Prodibio products. Bio Digest, BiopTim, ReefBooster.

Biodigest is a concentrated mix of several strains of nitrifying, denitiryfying bacteria.

BiopTim is bacterial Booster. reduces nitrates and phosphates.

ReefBooster is basically amino Acids.

I used to use products like this..and many more.. I think it's interesting that now I don't use any products, only water changes/normal food, and my tanks look awesome...

Ron Shimek had a conversation with me before on this phenomenon...he said "One word...placebo"

These products are all good at one thing though....wasting your $$

+++++++1,000,000,000 I threw too much money at Prodibio products waiting for my trates and phates to drop. Not even a single ppm over 6 months. Only benefit was water clarity. Biggest waste of money ever. In one week of MB7 and vodka I noticed more benefits and nutrient reduction than the entire 6 months.

It is still the same system though Rob. Albeit the vodka is cheaper. It is still dosing bacteria and a carbon source to feed the bacteria. I used Biodigest and vodka before I used MB7. It was actually a little nicer because I only dosed it once per month. You should be getting the same results.

I agree the concept is similar, dose bacteria dose carbon source. Bacteria on steroids. Maybe Prodibio wasn't providing the correct types or strains of bacteria for my system and that is why I didn't see the results I was hoping for? Each system is different and they all have different needs and respond differently to that stimulus. Mine didn't do what I had hoped, but things seem to be turning the corner now.
