Professional glass scratch removal?

Has anyone used a professional to remove scratches from your glass DT? I scored a gorgeous 110g for the low, low price of FREE. There is one scratch about 6 inches long with 2 inches of that deep enough to feel with my fingernail. (not snagged, but can be felt). Too deep for cerium oxide, so I n't waste my time.

If you have done so, please let me know the results and cost.

Hop on Google and find Glass companies in your area. Call them to see what they will do and for how much.

I DOUBT they'll offer any guarantee. They may even say "No Thanks" bc they're afraid of the tank glass cracking flooding your house and they get sued by you.

Call around.... see where it leads

Just a thought, not sure if it would work. The resin the glass companies use may work? I don’t know if it would, but maybe something to fill the scratch instead of polishing.

Sorry guys for the late reply. He quoted 350 for just the front glass. He was really knowledgable and explained the process pros and cons. Apparently he is the only guy in all of Nashville that does tanks. Every glass repair shop I called referred me to him. after much debate, I sold the tank, and use the profit to put towards a new SC tank with the same dimensions. I have not ordered it yet because we are putting in flooring this month.

You did the right thing (selling tank)... now buy an acrylic and not worry about it again!
