Hi is there a way to have an outlet on the apex turn on when my lights get above 50% power?

I tried something like

If output blue lights > 50 then on

But it won't take it. Any thoughts?

Im not an apex user, but I would say you need to create an alarm to activate when the lights hit 50 % and then have the fan channel be on when the alarm is activated. that is how I would program it on my Archon.

You have to setup your programming using Temp as a value. Go to your fan outlet in Fusion and under control type choose Chiller and program the outlet

Couldn't you just set it up by the time? Does your light hit 50% power at the same time every day?

It's setup by time now. I wanted to switch as the lights will switch to simulate rising setting sun time changes. Plus I don't want them on when the lights are only on a low setting, not needed.

are you trying to cool the lights or the tank? if cooling the tank, i would program them as jonmos states and run them off temp. if cooling the lights could you key off the time your light outlet turns on, then add X hours based on your ramp schedule?

While I do appreciate all of the alternatives, none really work. The fans kick in anytime the tank is too warm, so that is taken care of. The lights will use a seasonal sunset/rise schedule. The fans should kick on when the lights are at or above X percent of power. The time will change based on day. This is why I was hoping for a comparison to the light power.

Apex controls the ramp of the lights via the 0-10v ports. Controls fans via an outlet on the power bar.

I don't think you can...Directly, but you CAN indirectly. You know when you ramping starts, and you can tell when the LED reaches 50% or more power or less....You can turn on/off the fans based on time..:)
