Programming Nerds. Help with RKE Please!

Any out there? I have a unit that has a factory sent program error. This is a unit I preordered however long ago and am just getting ready to set up the tank now after some delays. Fresh from the box it doesn't work. Is there anyone who knows the innards of the RKE. You know how there are peeps who have the gadgets and the software to diagnose their cars computers in their own driveway.

Do you think anyone can diagnose my problem? The error is such that I can't even upload the information stored on my headunit.

Or is there no such thing/software/skill?

You picked this up during the initial pre-order over a year ago and just trying it out now?

Q: Have you done all the Firmware updates to bring the firmware up to date?

Q: Why would you wait over a year to test/power up the unit? What if it was DOA when you recieved it? Its now over a year and your warrenty is expired.

Software updated.

Yup, waited over a year to open it up. Sometimes life happens and things don't go down the way you hoped/planned. I realize the warranty is over, that's why I was hoping to find help within the general population.

But I see I walked into a wrong forum somewhere.......

Not the wrong forum, R2R is a great place. Sorry for being so blunt.

Did you update your firmware with a PC using Vista? That could be your problem. The update software doesnt work with Vista.

Or.....I have no clue LOL. Try reinstalling the Firmware a second time if you havent tried that yet. Did you update the firmware on all the modules, including the PC4's?

Have you been over to the Digital Aquatics Forum yet?
The Mods there all work for DA so they could help better than most of us

OMG people - all the guy did was ask for some help.

I would recommend that you go to the link that Paul left you at digital aquatics site themself. They are very helpful and will most likely be able to answer your questions.

First thing I would do if you havent already is update the firmaware. And it does work with vista. Thats all I have and have updated lites and the elite. what is the error exactly and maybe you could take a pic? I have the elite unit now and will do my best to help. THe guys at DA are really good over the phone helping out as well. They will be able to help way more than I ever could.
