Below are a few pics of the progress I am making on my new 120g DT and 10g QT. I am new to the hobby and just finished plumbing the system. I also painted the back of the DT and QT. Question regarding plumbing...I performed the leak test (successfully), however when the pump is running the water splashing into the socks is quite loud. I'm curious if I put piping to the socks lower than the water level will this stop the splashing?

Yes, your pipes should exit underwater. But with a new setup, you should have gone with a full-siphon style drain system (it's not too late). Too bad they still make traditional bottom drilled tanks designed for noisy Durso drains like this one. It is better to get a non "reef ready" tank and drill it yourself.
