Sps love i still cant tell what the little nub is going to be in the first pic the piece it was with look alot like a neon yellow green highlighter bottlebrush. And the purple has been coming out of the green cap which is a nice surprise too.

well ive gone to long on posting, but looking at my tank for a little while just made me sad. I felt i wasn't giving it everything i had and i was fighting my own problems :banghead:. But recently a friend and i met up and i gave him some frags for his frag tank and not expecting a return which i was fine with. But to my surprise he handed me a skimmer and said Zach you will get your tank under control you just have to remember to have patience. I was amazed, someone actually gave a crap. Again i was going through a real low spot were i felt like crud. Anyways i was very gracious for it and when i got home that night instead of getting ready for work the next morning i fiddled with skimmer for a couple hours and here is what i had gotten to see about 6 hours later.

The first pic is initial setup. The next one is a few hours later which i didn't think was too bad but hey a broke kid is happy with anything. Again the next one is when i got home from work. The little beast is chugging along. And heres collection day. Solid, no light penetration as you can see.

also during this skimmer setup time i played around with my old one and my reactor and here is what i ended up with. I initially setup setup my sump with the idea of using a T in my return just in case id ever needed to power something, well it finally came to a use. What i did was chop off the excess 3/4" added a 3/4" female slip to 3/4" threaded female, next was a male 3/4" threaded end to a 1/2" female adaptor and finally i finished it off with the vinyl 1/2" id barded end for the id tubing. the tubing runs through that mess down a length of tubing straight into the bio pellet reactor. From there it runs into my old remora skimmer to hopefully do some kind of good catching the bio pellet bacteria skim. I may have to modify it here soon. But the problem is i cant find a piece locally. Im looking for a 1/2" or 5/8" vinyl Y. So if anyone in the pittsburgh can point me in the right direction please let me know.

also just added my little frag rack back into the tank. To help give these little guys flow i have a koralia 425 faced to give them some current and my return is just above them and tilted down to give it a little more flow. Im praying growth flies off the shelf with this. Also started feeding the coral nightly now since the skmmers can handle the load.

My little change to my return i took my old 45° off and added a t and the 45 so i get a better spread of flow across the front end. Also notice my sneaky return line hidden in the tank trim. :D I know its not all that sneaky but i didnt want the pipe all that visible.
