As someone who struggled to keep sps for a while, I'm extremely happy to share with you guys my progress pictures. I want to extend a huge thanks to the R2R community, the #reefsquad and Matt @BoomCorals for all the help and support you've given me. So without further ado:

Beautiful! Great job!

How would you compare the growth rates of those encrusting Montipora? In other words, were any of them faster or slower growing than the rest?

Absolutely, the reverse superman monti is a powerhouse, whereas the jedi mind trick is a very slow grower. The sunset is somewhere in the middle of those two lol

Great progress Zach, what are you dosing?
BRS 2 part only. I dose nothing else and rely on weekly 10% water changes to replenish minor and trace elements. I will say with confidence 90% of my growth has occured after starting 2 part. I had little to no coraline growth before hand and now my back wall and bare bottom are quickly becoming completely covered.you can see it in alot of my after pictures. I'm very happy with the results and the simplifying of everything. Before I was dosing all kinds of stuff, I had probably 5 orn6 bottles of Kent stuff that I was dosing per the instructions, and I was battling algae and had little growth. Then another user on here, my very good friend @DSC reef and his lovely wife @Lovemyreef2015 , suggested I stop and only dose what I can test for. Did that and have never even considered looking back.

I’m jealous AF. What would you say changed such that you are having success? Im wondering if it’s the coral source that’s the key here? I’m having nothing but trouble as well, despite “perfect” parameters. Running tons of poly filter and carbon in case it’s some air fresheners or whatnot. I wonder if a go using Boomcorals or Battlecorals might be the key? In other words, a coral from a known solid stock? I’ve noticed that my LFS corals are growing in near zero nitrates and mine, mine aren’t zero!

Two things changed. I switched from dosing about a half dozen things to dosing 2 part only. Got all my parameters in check and have left everything else alone. That plus I switched to Kessil T5 combo, I'd say that also played a relatively big part as well. Before when I was dosing half a dozen things my parameters were (I assume) all over the place.

I’ve stopped dosing everything except food. Dkh doesn’t change since I just have frags. I do check it more now that I have coralline growing all over the botoom of the tank. I’m now wondering if my leds just aren’t cutting it? I’m seriously considering going back to t5 lights.

I will also add that yes, in my honest opinion, coral source also plays a part in it. The whole reason I started buying from Matt was because his frags simply looked amazing. How you see it in the picture is how itll look in your tank. There is no photoshop work done. Although I think sometimes there should be as the picture does not do seeing the coral in person justice:)

I’m thinking that Matt, and similar, have corals that can make it through thick and thin, not going all, no PE for a month before paling out despite an abundance of nutrients, before a week long stn that leads in death, all over something like some dust particles in the air.

May your corals grow like weeds.
