These are the same palys. You've just gotta love good lighting.

T5 lighting. A mixture of Korallen bulbs and Geisemann. It just seems that my palys do so well with these lights. I was thinking of trying out the new solaris lights but i wasn't thrilled about the study done on them recently.

Nice... can't wait to get mine! :) I think I may be able to talk my wife into getting some for Christmas.

Nice progression Pitcom, they look awesome!

how are peoples colors on sps with t5 lighting? brilliant or bleached?

Most peoples colors are bleached with t5 and sps from what ive seen but i think we might have been underestimating the bulbs capabilities. I have seen some fantastic sps tanks with great color under t5 but i notice its usually on a less intense setup or the fixture is raised up. I am interested in t5's and i believe they might rival mh but i could not stand loose the shimmer.

I have yet to have any sps bleach under my t5's. My growth has been fantastic. IMO the colors t5 produces on sps is just awesome. There are so many bulbs out there that you can create all kinds of variances of the same coral. Granted water coniditions can effect coloration, but i've seen plenty of same colony frags look 100% different under halide and t5. It's all about personal preference i guess. I'm in the stages of my 300g tank and i plan on using t5 again.

IMO, fluorescent bulb's light source is originating from a wide area and your corals to the sides don't get the half/half look that a MH does.
My sps is doing very well under my T5 HO for over a year now. I moved from MH to T5 HO and I'm very happy with them.
