Alright I’ve recently decided to move from a 125 DT to a 50 gal frag tank. I’ll try and update this thread every week or so but I’m pretty backed up with schoolwork, work, among other things. I’ve actually had this setup running for awhile now but I’m just now getting around to it lmaooo!! So I’ll try and update weekly and pretend I just did it lol! Enjoy everyone, this is completely DIY (except the tank glass walls).

as they all start, my amazing handwriting and a lot of sketching. From design to pricing on my chem hw to support boards and lengths to the individual cuts for the stand. Now I’ve got the plans down I’m gonna try and cut the wood and put it all together! Custom 2x4 50 gal frag tank with a sump in the bottom and two returns with a middle overflow. (Designed a shelf later for equipment because there’s a lot of that!)

So got the wood starting cutting by hand, skillsaw. Good times. Anyhow decided to go ahead and map out the plumbing while I was at it. No harm in that. Proceeded to build the stand with the lumber. Cut some plywood for the exterior to make it look nice and fancy, cover up those 2x4’s. Jigsaw is out for the custom shelf as seen in the third picture. Very nice piece of plywood. You can also see some edge banding tape for the shelf as well as wood putty among other things to really furnish it. Got some clamps to kinda make sure everything fits as it’s supposed to lol. Next is to stain, glue wood, then build the actual PVC
