Project Clay Brick

We have a crazy idea of reefscaping a 150 gallon tank with red clay brick and cement that we can’t get out of our head. The setup is designed for SPS, LPS, softie, and reef fish. The system only included bricks, cement, sand, a small in tank skimmer, a small in tank filter, maybe some algae, few pumps, three LED lights, two fans, and an ATO. No external filter or sump is use in this system. There’s many fellow reefers that offered us help, their name will be honored on the post along the way. Red clay brick usually make with clay high in Iron oxide, which makes it red in color. Dye is too experience to add to brick.

It’s actually more porous than I thought it would be. The clay brick is great for the bacteria colonizing. We will find out soon enough.
