Prolapsed Rectum? Valentini Puffer

Hey, woke up today to my puffer having what we think is prolapsed rectum? He is very sad, won't eat and laying mostly at the bottom of the tank.

We did soak him in an epsom salt bath but really looking to see if anyone has any other ideas.

He has been otherwise healthy, had him for 3 years, there haven't been new tank mates introduced in over a year. We did recently move the tank from the office to home as we started to work from home and he did get a little skinny in that time as days we were not in the office he had flake and pellets that was fed on off days, which he didn't love.

Epsom salt wont work as their is magnesium sulfate already is seawater mix and is a freshwater remedy. This prolapse is likely due to blockage from foods such as pellets and its up to the fish to pass through the blockage but often feeding brine shrimp will act as a laxative.
Is fish still eating? It appears to be a little thin

Not eating currently - for the past few weeks he has been on just frozen food but before that had been on some flake and pellet about 50% of the time but didn't love them which is why we think he had gotten a little thin.

Also I kind of figured that the epsom salt wouldn't do much - my LFS had mentioned that extra magnesium may still help clean out the blockage and since there wasn't a lot of options said it likely wouldn't hurt him further and could be worth a shot.

In case of infection, you can treat with Seachem Kanaplex which is absorbed by the fish

Sorry - I don't think there is anything you can do for this fish. The prolapse looks infected, and the fish being thin and also not eating means that it has some systemic problem. I wonder if it could have eaten something indigestible? That can cause a prolapse, as well as to keep it from feeding normally.
