Hey guys!

I have a Mangrove i bought some time back that is really taking off. I am wondering if its possible to propagate it like you can many other trees/flowers.
By cutting a piece of, and placing it in water?

I tried with one piece but the leaves fell off after a while. Is there any one who has had success with propagating mangroves and would like to share their experience?

Thanks

I don't think they will propagate that way. Mangrove propagules are all over the beaches here in Florida. They fall off the trees mostly in December.

Ah, do you know how to do this in captivity? I guess temperature and light cycle is key here?

I don't know how mature the mangrove has to be before it would put out propagules. I suspect it would take at least a few years to grow big enough.

Bust out your rooting hormones and fresh cow dung ... wait, I thought everyone had those laying around.
