So I’m redoing my frag tank, I found these 3”x3”x3” plastic containers at the dollar store. My plan is to fill them with the Reactor media and place my Mushroom in the middle, feed heavily to get them to split, and when they grow on to one of the agranite pieces, I just take the piece with the new mushroom and glue to a frag plug. I figured this will also help with my frag tank stability since it’s bare bottom and marine pure blocks are the only thing bacteria can colonize.

I am just wanted to know if any one has a negative thought about this as a process before I change up the frag tank.
Thanks,
Matt

That’s great advice as I was just sitting here thinking I might drill some…lol.
I would also consider using that plastic knitting sheets to either line the bottom or thread some fishing line and create your boxes. I found that with the Rhodactis this wasn’t as big of an issue, but Discosoma liked to slip down and out the holes on the bottom. Also, a nice trick to get them to reattach is to glue a rock on a frag plug put the mushroom in the crevice and wrap some media bag mesh around and twist it to the stem of the plug and use one of the bazillion LFS rubber bands you get from coral bags. In a week they attach.

I need to try that. I have two acrylic mushroom boxes. And often shrooms will attach to the box instead of all the rock rubble.
